Donors can support the Barnabas Fellowship by mailing a check made out to the fund or by making an online contribution using the button below.

Checking Account Online Donation 

You may initiate a donation from your personal checking or savings account through your financial institution’s online banking bill pay system.

Simply make the payment to “The Dayton Foundation” and note The Barnabas Fund and the mailing address listed above. You may request a one-time or recurring gift to the fund.  

 

Gifts of Appreciated Stock

Appreciated Stock
Should you wish to donate appreciated stock, you must have your financial advisor or investment company send the shares of stock in-kind to The Dayton Foundation. Do not send them yourself.

Provide written instructions to your broker, specifying the number and type of shares to be transferred, and send a copy to Tracie Boshears, senior staff accountant, at The Dayton Foundation.

To ensure that your gift will be credited properly, you must contact Tracie at (937) 225-9967 or tboshears@daytonfoundation.org.  

If your brokerage firm does not have an account for The Dayton Foundation, you may instruct your broker to electronically transfer shares of stock to one of the following firms with whom we have made arrangements for discounted transaction fees.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution 

(QCD)
If you are of the age you must take a required minimum distribution from your traditional IRA, you can transfer up to $100,000 to The Dayton Foundation as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) and not have it show as income for tax purposes. This can result in substantial tax savings for you. Married couples with two separate IRA accounts may transfer up to $200,000 tax free annually.

Required minimum distributions (RMD) sent directly to your fund are considered a QCD, satisfy the RMD requirement and are not considered taxable income. Your individual financial situation will play a major role in determining which planned gift option benefits both you and your charitable interest best. Please review planned giving options with your financial advisor and/or attorney to ensure your gift will meet your philanthropic and financial goals. For a specific monetary or percentage bequest in your will or trust: I give and bequeath (the sum of $) or (% of my estate) to The Dayton Foundation, Inc., to be held and administered as part of the Barnabas Fund #10135.  For a beneficiary designation or Payable On Death designation for your IRA, banking institution or investment account, indicate the following on the forms provided by your institution:

Transfer from Donor-Advised Fund at The Dayton Foundation

If you have a Dayton Foundation Donor-Advised Fund, you can request a grant from your fund to another Dayton Foundation fund through Donor Express. If you do not have a Donor Express account, please contact your fund’s donor services representative. You may choose a one-time grant or monthly/quarterly recurring transfer between your fund and The Dayton Foundation fund.

Other Gifts The Dayton Foundation does accept other types of gifts (i.e. real estate, S Corp stock, cryptocurrency, etc.).  Please contact a member of the Development and Donor Services department at (937) 222-0410 to discuss your proposed gift.
